Purpose

This being the first post I feel the need to say something profound. Unfortunately I have found that anything profound or epic only comes out on the fly in real coversations. So, I hope you all settle for me telling you the intended purpose of this blog.
Almost two years ago I put pen to paper, or fingers to keys as it were, and wrote a sermon. I had gone almost 7 years without preaching, and God had called me back to it. As I was writing God hit me with a special quote that has seasoned the way I think about worship. I was writing about Luke 19:38-40, the disciples get Jesus a colt, then he heads into the city and as he does his disciples are calling out “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”. It goes on to say that some Pharisees said to Jesus
“Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”. “ I tell you” he replied “if they keep quiet the stones will cry out”.
It hit me then, I don’t want to be replaced by a rock, if I remain silent they will cry out for me? And thus birthed the line that was supposed to be the big joke of the sermon, “Rocks are dumb.”  Since then I’ve pondered where  my life is lacking worship. Let me clarify, I am not taking a legalistic stance, but as I move deeper in faith, I desire more and more for every ounce of my everything to cry out in worship to God. Out of thanks, out of humility, and out of love.
I started this blog, because I want to share this experience of exploration into the depths of worship with others. To build a place where we can sharpen one another “ as iron sharpens iron”. It is my desire to start a forum for encouragement, and to show how each of us worship.

The blog will not work if it is about me, it only works if you write in your stories, big or little about faith, and with a bit of patience it will become interesting soon.  Stay tuned for posts from Sean Bucholz, James Ramelli, Brad McCann, and more!

Cool ideas, have a spot for a proofreader?
